From February 2020 to date: Caring for the elderly in a residential nursing home with 45 residents, supporting and supervising nurses, healthcare support workers and students. My duties involved: • Attending and participating in managers meeting • Organising meetings and writing up minutes for nurses • Attending to sick residents and liaising with doctors for clinical intervention • Providing high standard care for all residents and promoting family-centred care at all times. • Wound care • Catheterisation • Phlebotomist – taking bloods from residents

My duties involved: • Teaching both staff and students as a group and also on a one to one basis. Working on the wards and in theatre - recovery post-operative patients. • Teaching the Care Certificate Training to the new Health Care Support Workers. • Organising and preparing Local Induction/Orientation for all New Starters and Students and working closely and supporting the Preceptors and Mentors, so the newly qualified nurses will be able to deliver the best care for the children, young people and their families. • Teaching ANTT/IV Administration on Trust Induction to Newly Qualified Nurses. • Teaching Basic Life Support on Trust Induction for New Starters and for all Health Care Support Workers. • Organised Skills Station once a week for all staff and students, where I teach different skills and competencies such as: Tracheostomy Care, Chest Drains, Airway Management, Arterial and Central Lines, Blood Track/Blood Administration & Collection, Blood Glucose etc.. • Organised Protected Teaching Schedule, Training and other Teachings for Recovery Staff quarterly. Getting in different speakers to teach and train staff on different skills and competencies. • Observing and Assessing staff teaching sessions on the Mentorship Course. • Coaching and providing Pastoral Care for all staff and students.
