Position : Project Manager

Position Summary:

Serves as the in country Project Manager on the DoS AFRICAP Logistics & Equipment Support Depot Task Order in Sierra Leone. Responsible for performing the duties of Project Manager for all contractor personnel and equipment deployed to the site and necessary to accomplish the mission as directed by the U.S. Mission Sierra Leone and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).

Role and Responsibilities:

  • The Project Manager shall bear ultimate responsibility for ensuring that all work required under a task order is performed satisfactorily.
  • The Project Manager shall serve as the U.S. government's primary in-country point of contact for all technical matters pertaining to a task order.
  • The Project Manger serves as leader for all staff on a task order, and mentors employees, identifies possible problem areas, priorities and deadlines.
  • The Project Manager assures timely delivery of quality work products and services associated with accounting and financial systems, budget control, and financial management functions.
  • Provides updates on project activities and is responsible for compiling data deliverables for submission to the appropriate U.S. government entities.
  • Responsible for all contractor team concerns and issues associated with the deployment location.
  • Reviews and evaluates all work performed, ensuring that it meets or exceeds contract requirements and customer expectations.
  • Direct activities of personnel performing on the contracts to ensure cost, schedule, and performance requirements are accomplished.
  • Manage the inventory and control of Company, Government and Contractor furnished equipment, materials, and information.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required profile for job ad : Project Manager
  • At least two (2) years of directly related project management experience managing the operations and maintenance of a large motor pool facility with over 200 pieces of rolling stock and successfully implement the task order's requirement and program objectives.
  • At least two (2) years directly related experience operating and living in areas with limited maintenance infrastructure and low-level human resources pools, while providing life cycle support in hardship conditions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Medical and Physical Fit to deploy
  • Tourist Passport required to deploy
  • Must pass federal background check and drug screen
  • Computer knowledge and use: Word, Outlook, general keyboard/typing skills
  • Fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Valid government issued Drivers License
